Veterinary Care

Our Houston veterinarian team offers pet checkups, preventative care, vaccinations, microchips, dental care, laser therapy and acupuncture. Pet checkups ensure that your pet is in good health and helps catch illnesses and diseases early.

bernese mountain puppyOur preventative care includes vaccinations, heartworm checks and preventative medications, flea and tick prevention and treatment and tips for caring for your dog at home and while traveling. We recommend that you schedule a wellness check for your pet at least once a year. This helps keep your pet healthy and ensures that they are up to date on all their vaccinations.

Microchips help identify your pet if he or she gets lost. Dogs and cats are notorious for getting out of their homes and yards. They can dig under or jump over fences and escape open doors and gates with little warning. A microchip can identify your dog or cat and provide a phone number and address so that you can be called.

Pets need dental care as much as humans. We recommend scheduling at least one dental appointment for your pet a year so that his or her teeth can be cleaned and mouth and gums checked for infection and oral diseases.

Laser therapy is great for stimulating the healing of wounds and fractures. It can relieve general body pain, arthritis and skin problems. Acupuncture is a completely holistic treatment option that can reduce inflammation and pain and promote healing. It works by stimulating the central nervous system, which controls every bodily function in your pet from their bones and muscles to their cardiovascular system.

Animal Hospital and Surgeries

Our animal hospital performs routine surgeries. Our veterinarian routinely performs spays and neuters and many other soft tissue procedures, like removing growths.

Spaying or neutering your pet is essential for their safety. It prevents overpopulation, and it lessens their desire to roam and fight with other animals, which can lead to serious injuries and even car accidents.

If you need emergency veterinary help for your pet, we can provide the numbers to several local 24 hour animal hospitals.

To schedule an appointment with our veterinarian, please call our office at 713-677-2380. If you have never been to our clinic before, ask about our new patient discounts.

At Tanglewilde Veterinary Clinic, we treat your pets like the valued family members they are.

She grew up in the Houston area, and graduated from Humble High School in 1996. After graduating from Texas A&M with a BS in Biomedical Science, Dr. Parkerson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in January 2004. She currently enjoys practice in primary care and surgery for young and old cats and dogs.
